Failure to Plan Well Leads to Disaster

The meaning of a plan may differ, depending on its context usage and in respect to the perspective of its user in different situations. In the context of this article, a plan could be defined as a proposal for doing or achieving an objective or set of objectives. In life, individuals aim to achieve goals, complete a project, excel in their endeavours, but lack of a good plan will definitely result in these objectives not coming to fruition. This is the reason why people need to plan well before going into any project. This article will place its focus on why people fail to plan well before they begin to launch any project, and how it leads to disaster of such projects. Solutions will be provided at the end to correct this error that concerns most people.

The first reason is that people become impatient, once they have a vague vision of a big project. People who fall into this category believe that sitting down to draw a plan for the success of a project is a waste of time. This actually makes them impatient, and their thinking will be restricted to the fastest way to get the job done. Working on the plans to carry out a successful project is not the priority for people in this category, but the project itself is all they care about. Impatience actually leads to disaster of any project, because the time that was not used in initial planning will be consumed in greater degree when an unexpected circumstance presents itself at the middle of implementation of the project.

The other reason is shallow understanding of what is involved and serious attachment to the result. Most times people do not attempt to plan well before going into any venture because they lack the understanding of huge responsibilities and requirements involved in such ventures. As a result of this, they feel that the plans they have will be enough to complete the tasks ahead. The middle of such projects is usually disastrous, because what it seemed is not what it is. On the other hand some people spend more time in thinking about the end and the success of a project, and this prevents them from having enough plan to start it off. More attachment to the result of any project presents people with myopic view of what is needed to be done. Disaster is the possible result of this because the success that is expected may not be the actual result due to inadequate planning.

The solutions to this error being committed by some people in the process of carrying out projects are short and simple. People should be made to understand that impatience in planning leads to insufficiency in ideas, therefore people should be patient to plan before launching any idea. On the other hand, people should try as much as possible to detach themselves from the outcome of a project until the success becomes reality.

In life, people fail to prepare or plan well for whatever their engagements might be, but inadequate plans will always present failure as a possible outcome. This article encourages you to have adequate plans before launching any idea or project.
