Should All Nations Be Allowed To Join FIFA And Compete For The World Cup?

The FIFA World Cup is one of the most celebrated events in the world which allows countries from different continents of the world to compete in interesting tournaments at the Under- 17, 20 and the senior levels. Since the main objective of the World Cup is to promote peace and unity among all nations, which it is actually helping to achieve, no Nation or independent countries should be restricted from competing in this great FIFA event in order to achieve the objectives for which it is being established. The reasons for supporting that all Nations should be allowed to join FIFA and compete for the World Cup will be highlighted by this article in the discourse below.

The first reason to consider in this article is the fact that FIFA is a world body, the World Cup which it helps to conduct is a world event, and all independent Nations are part of the World. Since this fact remains the way it is, I do not think that restricting some Nations to join FIFA or competing for the World Cup is in the best interest of the world. If this should be adhered to, then FIFA should cease to be a world body, and the World Cup which it conducts should no longer be regarded as a world event. The only period that this restriction should apply is when a country disobeys international law.

Secondly, the objectives for which FIFA was established which comprise promoting world peace and unity among other objectives should be put under consideration. Although the World Cup is an event where Nations compete for a champion to emerge at the end of the tournament, it also helps to promote world peace and unity. After each game at the World Cup, we always see players and coaches of different teams exchanging pleasantries whether they win or loose. This is a good sign of peace and unity of different countries of the world being promoted. Since this is a positive development, I wonder why some countries should be restricted in being part of it.

Lastly, we should consider the love of the game, and the sense of belonging which it creates among nations. We cannot deny the fact that the FIFA World Cup is being loved by citizens of all nations, and the sense of belonging which it creates cannot be compared to any other event. The expectation to compete in the World Cup is always high. For this reason, no Nation should be restricted in being part of this event in order to encourage love, peace, and unity among Nations of the world.

I strongly maintain that all Nations should be allowed to join FIFA and compete for the World Cup because it promotes world peace and unity, and also helps to create sense of belonging among all nations even the politically, economically, or militarily weak nations are not left out.
